You can tell from the phone number that this isn’t actually London, but it’s a worthwhile excursion if you have access to a car. When you’re getting a bit tired of the neon glare of soft play, Europa Gym’s horizontal planes provide a welcome relief. Gym Fun Play is a essentially a gymnasium made over to preschoolers (0-4 year-olds) for a couple of two-hour sessions every weekday (9.30-11.30am and 12-2pm). The age range is extended up to 11 years on Sunday morning (9.30-11.30am) and school holidays, which have different session lengths and times.
There are balance beams at various heights, soft play shapes to climb on, massive trampolines, uneven bars, crash pads and a massive bouncy castle. They can tear around and wear themselves out – mine generally sleep all the way home. The fun play sessions are great when you’re toting around a new baby and don’t really want to be clambering through a vertical soft play with a toddler that still needs some support.
There’s a car park underneath the building and an onsite cafe. However, if you’re looking for somewhere to eat, we’d recommend the Hall Place Riverside cafe, which you can access without a ticket.
