Music for Under-Fives

The time will come when your children will no longer tolerate your singing and daggy dancing, so if you have a small child who is still a belieber, enjoy it. There are loads of music classes and sessions for preschoolers and we think the ones listed here are some of the most fun and interesting.

Bach to Baby

Boppin Bunnies
What: Participatory music classes led by professional musicians and music teachers in classes that are for specific age groups
Where: Bexleyheath, Blackheath, Borough, Brockley, Bromley, Charlton, East Dulwich, Eltham, Greenwich, Sidcup
Age: 0-4
Cost: drop-ins for one child/two children £8/£11, per term £78/£117

Little Folk
little folkWhat: Rollicking nursery rhymes, including the old ones and some new classics. Cat engages kids with props, toys and puppets as well as her guitar and voice
When: Monday to Friday mornings
Where: Beckenham, Peckham, Penge, Sydenham
Age: 0-2
Cost: £4-6 depending on venue

Hummy Mummies
What: A choir for mums and other child carers with bumps, babies and toddlers. Babies come along and sleep or play. Music is pop and pop classics. Not to be confused with hilarious local comedy duo, Scummy Mummies.
When: Weekday mornings (and Friday afternoon)
Where: Brockley, East Dulwich, Forest Hill, Greenwich, Peckham
Age: bumps, babies and toddlers
Cost: £65 for a 12-week term

nimble artsNimble Tales
What: Highly creative music and arts classes with a strong storytelling element using puppets, cello and ukelele
Where: East Dulwich, Nunhead, Telegraph Hill
When: Weekday mornings (except Thursday)
Age: 0-2 and 0-5
Cost: drop-ins £6 or £30 for six classes
