The subtitle at Brick House is ‘Sourdough bakery and cafe’, which is a significant undersell of what’s actually on offer here. The bakery is housed in an old factory on a side street in East Dulwich. The inside is light, bright, stylish and informal. It provides the perfect foil for superb bread and great coffee. You can buy your goodies to take away or sit at the large shared tables where there are generous pats of butter, huge jars of jam and marmite to slather on your bread.
The kids fell on the dense chewy baguette like a pack of starving wolves while we enjoyed sourdough toast with drippy jam.
