forestschool 5The benefits to children of spending time outside are huge, and forest school, nature play and gardening playgroups are a great way to engage them with the natural world. When you’re looking for an activity for a rainy day, Forest School may feel counterintuitive, but most run whatever the weather. Just rug up and put on your wellies. One tip is to rummage around in the charity shops for a cashmere jumper or cardigan and cut them up or shrink them down to make thermals and hats for your kids. Or just wear them yourself.
